The Point-One association aims at strategic innovation designed to elevate Dutch industry into a leading position in nanoelectronics, embedded systems and mechatronics. Point-One will generate close to 1 B euro activity in the next three years for high quality technology projects which are part of the Point-One roadmap.

Dr. J. Elders is founding father of the Point-One association, together with Roel Kramer, Ambassador & Chairman of the Point-One Executive Board, Frans van Houten (CEO, NXP), Eric Meurice (CEO, ASML), Jan Mengelers (chairman of the board, TNO) Rokus van Iperen (CEO, Océ), Harry Hendriks (Philips Nederland), Ted van der Put (CEO, VDL-ETG). Dr. V. Spiering (C2V) supports the programme board in its initial phase with suggestions regarding SME participation.
The Point-One programme focuses on four modules, which are essential to strengthening the innovation ecosystem:

1. Top-down R&D roadmap linking with Europe
2. Bottom-up calls capturing national opportunities
3. SME stimulation and Human capital roadmap
4. University-industry interaction
